Brendan Rodgers names Celtic team for Ross County league opener

Brendan Rodgers has named his Celtic team for his first competitive match back in Glasgow.

The Parkhead boss will oversee his first league fixture back at the club since he replaced Ange Postecoglou as Ross County travel to Celtic Park.

And the game sees a competitive debut for Polish defender, Maik Nawrocki, who will partner Cameron Carter-Vickers in the heart of the Celtic defence.

Joe Hart returns in goal after sitting out the midweek match against Athletic Club, while Liel Abada, Kyogo and Daizen Maeda make up Celtic’s attacking trio.

James Forrest is named amongst the substitutes, and ahead of today’s game he will unfurl the league flag in recognition of last season’s success in the same week that he had his testimonial match.

ROSS COUNTY: Laidlaw, Randall, Brown, Baldwin, Dhanda, Sims, Loturi, Murray, Harmon, White, Nightingale

Subs: Munro, Allardice, Turner, Sheaf, Henderson, Samuel, Brophy, Smith, Reid.
