Brendan Rodgers gives update on fitness of Reo Hatate and Cameron Carter-Vickers

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has issued an update on the fitness of Reo Hatate and Cameron Carter-Vickers.

The former missed the final two games of last season through injury, while reports have suggested that Carter-Vickers could be in line for a spell on the sidelines.

"We knew then the recovery time would mean he’d miss a week.

"But he’s back working again and, hopefully, [will] be ready for the next few weeks.

"With Reo, was just a shame for him. He’s had a few extra few days but he’ll come back in and he’ll be fine."

Rodgers also confirmed that veteran winger James Forrest will be fit to travel to Ireland for Celtic's upcoming pre-season friendly against Cork City on Tuesday.

It comes after the Scottish Premiership champions defeated Queen's Park by a goal to nil on Friday, as Johnny Kenny's first-half strike proved the difference between the sides.
