Brendan Cole throws major shade at Strictly as he gushes over X Factor: Celebrity

Brendan Cole threw some major shade at Strictly Come Dancing as he gushed about going on X Factor : Celebrity.

The dancer was a professional on the first 15 series of the BBC show, but recently turned his hand to singing on its rival.

He teamed up with former Hollyoaks star Jeremy Edwards to take on Simon Cowell's new version of X Factor.

Despite getting poor feedback on their performance and failing to make it through to the live shows, Brendan loved every second of the experience.

Speaking exclusively to Mirror Online at the Pride Of Britain Awards, he said: "It's amazing being on the other channel.

"I worked on Saturday live television for 14 years and I’m proud [of it]. To be on X Factor, it was a privilege, it was an honour. I’m here with X Factor tonight."

Many of Brendan's co-stars were at the Mirror's awards last night, as well as judges Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh.

Louis chatted about the contest, telling us Martin Bashir has no chance of winning.

The judge, who oversees the ITV talent show with Simon and Nicole Scherzinger, says journalist Martin isn't a very good singer.

He told us: "I'm loving X Factor, I'm having the most fun. I love the idea and I love the celebrities.

"It was tough on Saturday with [Olivia Olson] going.

"Everyone is so good, nobody's bad ... Martin Bashir's not great but he knows that.

"He had a great story and he's a great raconteur, he's just not a great singer."

Louis added that he still has no idea who is taking part in the All Stars version of the show, which will hit screens after the Celebrity version is finished.

Although Louis has previously told Mirror Online that Shayne Ward, Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke are on the line up.

* The Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards, in partnership with TSB, will broadcast on ITV on 5th November at 8pm
