Breathalysers to stop drunk driving, says Jaipur police

JAIPUR: Police will use breathalyser tests during Holi to check for drunken driving. Additional commissioner of police (law and order) Haider Ali Zaidi said that breathalyser tests were stopped due to the pandemic.

But the test has been introduced to keep a check on excessive drinking, which could result in fatal accidents.

Zaidi said adequate security arrangements have been made ahead of Holi celebrations. “We will deploy 10 additional police companies and 600 constables to ensure a safe festival,” he said.

Around 800 cops will be posted on Thursday and Friday for Holi and Shab-e-Barat.
