BREAKING: Lowland League and West of Scotland League crunch talks plot return date

The Lowland League and West of Scotland League are planning to kick-off by October, it has been revealed.

An email seen by Lanarkshire Live Sport from West of Scotland League chairman Dave McKenna has been sent to clubs in tier five and who have exited the junior ranks after a Lowland/East/South/West Pyramid Restart Group meeting via video call last week.

Following the talks, the plan for tier five and below currently is to restart training in August. Games are scheduled to return from either September 26 or October 3.

These are described as "indicative dates" and will be based on SFA and Scottish Government advice subject to any final approval.

The Lowland League and new WOSFL sides have also been asked to submit a "facility survey" on the capacity number for spectators by next weekend to allow planning for fans returns to grounds.

Non-league representatives will also hold a video call with SFA chief executive Ian Maxwell this Thursday (July 9) to discuss "practical support" for semi-professional clubs, including finance.

Furthermore, clubs were warned no training or matches can take place until advised and any rule breach "could result in disciplinary action"  or "result in the restart at semi-professional level being further delayed".
