Arsenal 2021/22 Premier League squad confirmed after Edu's summer transfer spree

Arsenal have officially confirmed their squad for the 2021/22 Premier League season.

After a summer transfer spree which saw six new signings arrive at the Emirates Stadium, Mikel Arteta has now named who will be part of his set-up moving forward.

All of the new signings predictably earn a place in the squad, whilst surprise names such as Sead Kolasinac, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Eddie Nketiah are all also included despite having been strongly linked with an exit throughout the summer.

The Gunners also have also had to consider the Premier League's rules surrounding the inclusion of home-grown players. Laws state that in order to name a full 25-man squad, at least eight have to be home-grown. Arsenal currently have six home grown players on their list which includes the likes of Calum Chambers, Rob Holding and summer signings Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale.

Whilst the squad is definitive, Arteta and Edu will have another chance to alter their selection in January when the transfer window reopens.

In all, Arsenal have named 21 first-team players, taking up a total of 25 slots, with an extended list of under-23 home grown players also eligible to play.

The likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Florian Balogun all remain under the age of 21 and thus are not required to take up a space in Arsenal's 25-man list and instead have been named on the youth list as a consequence.
