Brazil battle back to secure dramatic World Cup win over Japan

  • Japan took the lead in the first half through Kaishu Sano after he breezed past Casemiro and fired into the bottom corner.
  • Casemiro atoned for his error by heading home from close range 10 minutes into the second half to bring Brazil level.
  • The game looked to be heading for extra time, but Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli popped up in the 95th minute to break Japan’s hearts.
  • Brazil are through to the last-16, and they will face either Erling Haaland’s Norway or Ivory Coast in the next round.
