Brazen disqualified driver with tax that expired three years ago caught using mobile phone while driving outside Dublin court

A brazen disqualified driver with tax that expired over three years ago used his mobile phone while driving outside a Dublin court.

The driver was stopped by gardai in front of the Criminal Courts of Justice and had his car seized.

Gardai said his tax had expired 1,297 days ago when they caught him on Parkgate Street in the capital.

He now faces his own court date inside the CCJ in the near future.

Gardai said: "This driver was stopped by Gardaí in front of the Criminal Courts of Justice!! He was having a chat on his mobile phone while driving, tax expired 1,297 days ago and just to top it all off…he is a disqualified driver. Car seized & he’ll be back at the CCJ very soon."

In a separate incident, another disqualified driver was caught driving in a bus lane in Dublin city centre.

They also had expired tax and insurance, and as a result gardai seized the car.

Gardai said: "DMR South Central RPU: This car was stopped driving in a buslane this evening in Dublin City, driver was a disqualified driver. Car seized & prosecution to follow."
