Brave Walkinstown homeowner's frightening face-off with brazen burglar who stormed home

A Walkinstown local has warned people in the area to stay vigilant after going face-to-face with an attempted car thief last night.

The Dubliner took to the Walkinstown neighborhood watch Facebook page to share their experience with other locals from the area.

The event reportedly took place on Limekiln avenue in the early hours of the morning, when someone into their vehicle in what seemed to be an attempted robbery.

However, the thief had managed to steal their car and house keys and they have asked for anybody in the area to respond to their post in the group if they have further details.

"Our house got broken into last night in Limekiln at 2:30 in the morning," the user said. "They jimmied the door open and stole my car/house keys.

"Thankfully we woke and the alarm went off and they were scared off and didn't have time to rob the car.

"If anyone in the area has seen anything or finds a set of keys that would be great, thanks."
