Brave Tom Parker had to face devastating terminal brain tumour diagnosis alone

Less than two years ago The Wanted star Tom Parker had everything to look forward to.

The talented singer, who was adored by millions around the world, was excitedly looking forward to the birth of his son with his beloved wife, Kelsey.

The couple already had daughter, Aurelia, and couldn't wait to meet their son and embark on the next phase of their lives.

But, while Kelsey was pregnant with their second child, Tom was given a devastating diagnosis - he had an incurable brain tumour.

Devoted father Tom vowed to do everything he could to fight his cruel illness, for his children, wife and bandmates, but tragically today, aged just 33, the courageous singer passed away.

Kelsey broke the news in an emotional Instagram post, saying: "It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side.

"Our hearts are broken. Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence.

"We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom’s light continues to shine for his beautiful children.

"Thank you to everyone who has supported in his care throughout, he fought until the very end. I’m forever proud of you."

Tom's The Wanted bandmates also paid a poignant tribute to their "brother".

It said: "Max, Jay, Siva, Nathan and the whole Wanted family are devastated by the tragic and premature loss of our bandmate Tom Parker, who passed away peacefully at lunchtime today surrounded by his family and his band mates.

"Tom was an amazing husband to Kelsey, and father to Aurelia and Bodhi. He was our brother, words can’t express the loss and sadness we feel.

"Always and forever in our hearts."

The father-of-two was given his diagnosis while on a family holiday after suffering with debilitating seizures.

Despite several trips to hospital in the summer of 2020, the couple were determined to carry on as normal and went on a family holiday to Norwich.

It was while they were there the Tom suffered a bad seizure and and was taken to hospital by ambulance for an MRI scan.

He should have been in hospital for just a few hours but because so many tests were needed, Tom had to stay in for three days before doctors ruled out everything else and had to give him the devastating news in August 2020.

To make matters so much worse for the young family, because it was the height of the Covid pandemic, Tom had to attend all his appointments alone, including the one where he was told he was suffering from a brain tumour.

Tom told OK! : A couple of days later, when we were still on holiday. Kelsey couldn’t come in because of Covid. They pulled the curtain around my bed and said, “It’s a brain tumour.”

"All I could think was, “F*****g hell!” I was in shock. It’s stage four glioblastoma and they’ve said its terminal. It was a lot to deal with by myself."

But nothing could hold the singer back and just a few weeks ago he was up on stage with The Wanted - despite being so weak he had to use a wheelchair.

Bandmate Max George heaped praise on him as he shared a snap of Tom in his chair.

“I mean… Come on,” Max had captioned the image, adding a heart eyes emoji to express his admiration for his pal.

Tom’s strength deteriorated to the point he needed the chair not long after he had joined his bandmates on stage during their reunion tour.

Tom and Kelsey married in 2018 and welcomed daughter Aurelia in 2019 before finding out out in May 2020 they were expecting their second child together, with little Bodhi born in 2020.
