Brandon Marshall to ex-Broncos teammates: Raiders will win in Week 1

The Denver Broncos opted not to pick up linebacker Brandon Marshall’s contract option earlier this offseason, allowing him to become a free agent. Marshall then signed a one-year deal with the Oakland Raiders, one of Denver’s big rivals in the AFC West.

The Raiders will host the Broncos in Week 1 on Sept. 9 and Marshall is eager to face the team that cut him.

“I daydream about it every day,” Marshall said during an appearance on NFL Network last week. “Every day. I can’t wait, you know? It’s not going to take long for me to see my old teammates, see my old organization [and] I can’t wait.

“I think it’s going to be a hell of a game. I see us winning. I told some guys — I went back to Denver not too long ago — and I told some of those guys that we’re going to beat ’em. So, we’ll see.”

Marshall, 29, was healthy for 11 games last season and started seven contests, totaling 42 tackles. Denver has moved forward with Todd Davis and Josey Jewell as its new starting inside linebackers.
