Brain teaser requires full focus to see hidden error in flock of chickens

If you've ever wondered how smart you actually are, there are plenty of brain teasers out there to help prove it.

They aren't just a fun way to pass the time, but can also work out your brain, improving cognitive functions like memory and attention to detail. Some optical illusions task you with finding subtle images in a larger picture, like spotting four hidden women in plain sight.

While others contain crazy patterns that move if you look at them for long enough. This latest puzzle requires you to spot the error in a flock of hidden chickens - but it's not as simple as it sounds.

The picture shows four rows of seemingly identical birds against a magenta backdrop, but one actually differs from the rest, reports the Mirror. The vibrant colour may be initially distracting, but maintaining focus will help you solve it in no time.

If you think that you've got a keen eye, why not give it a go?

If you need a bit of a hint, look at the lower half of the chicken's bodies, as you'll see one chicken that is missing something the others have. If you're still struggling, read below to learn the answer - but consider this a spoiler warning.

The answer is the chicken in the third row from the top, three in from the left. If you look at the chicken's right leg, you will see it is completely smooth, compared to the others.

If you still want to prove your intellect, why not try a few other brain teasers?

In one image you'll see two women and a boy – but which is the child's real mum? At first glance you may not spot anything different, but take some time to look closer.

Another tricky brain teaser challenges you to find the odd letter in a sequence of Ms in just 11 seconds – this one will get your pulse racing. If you're looking for a different challenge, one optical illusion can point out your least attractive personality trait.
