Bracketology round-up: Where does MSU basketball stand on the Saturday before Selection Sunday

Michigan State’s run in the Big Ten Tournament came to an end on Friday afternoon, when the team lost to No. 1 Purdue, 67-62. Following the loss, all the Spartans can do now is wait to find out what their fate will be on Selection Sunday.

Following the win against Minnesota on Thursday, Spartan fans were feeling good about where they stood in terms of an NCAA Tournament berth, but since then – teams on the bubble have continued to win – making this a much closer race to the finish line.

For now, MSU seems to be safely in the field, but with four potential bid stealers still out there, there is still some anxiety surrounding the Spartans and a potential bid in the NCAA Tournament.

See where the bracketologists have MSU going into Saturday’s action:

The first thing to note, there are still three to four potential bid stealers, that could cause some further headaches for MSU. In order for MSU, and it’s fans, to feel more safe (and to avoid the potential of playing in the first four in Dayton), here is who to cheer for:

  • North Carolina to beat NC State
  • Colorado to beat Oregon
  • San Diego State to beat New Mexico
  • FAU to win the American title
