Brack Burger launches new Ouseburn venue as reviewers claim burgers are 'best they've had'

A burger business started by two Newcastle brothers is continuing its incredible success with the opening of a third new venue in Ouseburn on Thursday.

Brack Burger was set up by Joe Brack, 25, and chef Ollie Brack, 23, in January last year. The new business proved a huge hit after beginning as a takeaway service during lockdown from the kitchen of The Jubilee pub in Gosforth, which is run by their dad.

“It just blew up,” recalls Joe. “Each month we kept getting busier, and demand kept getting bigger.” They have since gone on to serve their burgers at two more Newcastle venues, Soho and Osbornes in Jesmond.

Joe has praised the “absolutely amazing” support from their local community in helping Brack Burger to succeed in its debut year. With their burger business continuing to grow, the brothers have plans to open another branch in Newcastle city centre within the coming months.

Brack Burger launched a mouth-watering new menu just last month, which is double the size of the restaurant’s previous offering. The whole range of dishes can be found at the new Ouseburn site as well as the Gosforth and Jesmond venues, and they are also available to order for delivery via UberEats.

The menu boasts a variety of delicious twists on the classic beef burger, from The Cuban Reuben topped with Emmental cheese and beef pastrami brisket, to The All Day Breakfast with a hash brown base, crispy bacon, fried egg, and avocado. They have also expanded their chicken burger offering, with half a dozen buttermilk fried chicken options to choose from.

The new menu has a “Grown Not Born” section for vegetarians and vegans too, with plant-based patties, fried jackfruit and halloumi options. Desserts have also been added, including chocolate fudge brownie, churros, and ice cream milkshakes.

The new Brack Burger venue is located in the Ouseburn Garden in the heart of the Ouseburn Valley, which is described as a “pit-stop for drinks, food, live music and more”. The stylish space features an outdoor garden equipped with a giant TV screen, heated lamps and firepits, and a bar made from a converted shipping container.

The venue’s grand opening coincides with St Patrick’s Day, and those heading down to Ouseburn on 17 March can expect a lively atmosphere of double celebrations to mark the occasion. There will be music from a live DJ in the evening and throughout the opening weekend.

Reviewers have been raving about the burgers on Facebook. Jenna Taylor left a five star review and said: "Unreal the flavours, best burger ever" and Chris Farndell said: "Best burgers in the toon, with the best dirty fries about!"

Brack Burger Ouseburn is open from 4pm-11pm Monday to Friday, and from 12pm-11pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
