Boy, 4, 'won't stop talking' about birthday present from Aldi worker

A little boy had his "day made" with a present from an Aldi worker.

The boy took a trip with his mum to the Aldi store in St Helens on June 23- the day before the boy's fourth birthday. After telling a member of staff it was his birthday- local legend "Aldi Paul" surprised the little lad.

Paul had bought a pack of chocolates for the boy out of his own money. The young lad's mum claims that he "hasn't stopped talking" about it since.

There have been many tales of Paul's kindness shared on social media and by the ECHO previously. In February he received thanks after gifting a customer a bunch of flowers after he heard she had become a grandma after recently losing a family member

The mum of the birthday boy took to Facebook to thank Paul for his kindness, she said: "Just a thank you to Paul one of the managers at Aldi near to the sorting office. As we were walking into Aldi this evening my little boy told him that it's his birthday tomorrow and he will be four.

"Paul wished him a happy birthday and we walked in and did our shopping. A few minutes later Paul walked up to us with a packet of chocolate bars and gave them to my son and said there's your birthday present off me. He had bought these chocolate bars with his own money and my son has not stopped talking about the man in Aldi. So to Paul thank you for making my son's night"
