Boy, 16, critically hurt in Little Village shooting

A teenage boy was shot and critically wounded Monday in Little Village on the Southwest Side.

The 16-year-old was walking at 11:37 a.m. in the 3300 block of West 28th Street when someone walked up and started shooting, according to Chicago police.

The boy was shot multiple times and ran away before collapsing in the 2800 block of South Spaulding Avenue, police said. He was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
