Boston have best odds to host 2022 NFL Draft

When Roger Goodell announces that the New England Patriots are on the clock for the 2022 NFL Draft, he may be doing so in Boston, which is the odds-on favorite to host that year’s event.

The NFL has announced that the draft is heading to Las Vegas in 2020, Cleveland in 2021 and Kansas City in 2023. But the location for the 2022 draft has yet to be unveiled, and oddsmakers gave Boston the best odds.

“My understanding is what the NFL wants to do is go a little city, big city, and kind of alternate,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said on TV recently. “Obviously Nashville [in 2019] and then Vegas next; they’re basically saving a spot for a bigger city. And some of the ones that have been mentioned to me: Boston, potentially, with the Patriots hosting, that would be one. Washington, D.C., with the Redskins. Maybe Houston with the Texans, although usually these are reserved for teams that do not host Super Bowls.”

The draft was held in New York for 50 years before moving to Chicago for 2015 and 2016; Philadelphia in 2017; Arlington, Texas, in 2018; and Nashville, Tennessee, in 2019.
