Boston Celtics guard Romeo Langford says team needs to improve on finishing games

Boston Celtics guard Romeo Langford said the team needs to improve on their ability to finish out possessions and games during a press conference Monday ahead of the team’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The 5-7 Celtics dropped a game against the 9-5 Cavs on Saturday, allowing Cleveland to come back from down 12 points at the end of the fourth quarter.

“Like I said after the Miami game, just playing complete a full game, finishing games off,” Langford said on what needs to improve. “Also, we had a few defensive errors with slipping on the screens and communicating. So just really that. And offensive rebounds late in the game messes up just the same things that kind of get us most of the time when we’re up like that.”

Langford touched on the teams’ offensive rebounding performance as well, saying a few late offensive rebounds in the fourth quarter cost them big.

He is playing the most minutes of his career to this point, with nearly 20 per game. He is one of just three Celtics hitting 40% or better from three-point range with a 47.4% so far this season, alongside Jabari Parker (50.0%) and Grant Williams (40.0%).
