The Boston Celtics came to Texas hoping to get an easy win against the clearly rebuilding Houston Rockets as that ball club makes its best effort to land some of the top-tier talent in the 2023 NBA draft. And then the Rockets punched them in the mouth.
One of the worst defensive efforts of the season saw the Celtics fall 111-109 with Jayson Tatum (22 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists) shooting just 2-of-10 from deep. Jaylen Brown (43 points, 5 boards) led all scorers in a contest that saw almost no help from the bench save Malcolm Brogdon (20 points per game).
