Borussia Dortmund chief issues fresh Jadon Sancho transfer update to Manchester United

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has issued a blow to clubs — including Manchester United — interested in signing Jadon Sancho in the upcoming January transfer window.

Amid reports that Sancho was unsettled in Dortmund and interest from United , which has existed since the summer, Zorc has claimed there isn't a "scenario" where the 19-year-old could leave next month.

Sancho has returned to form recently, scoring in each of his past four appearances, including against Barcelona in the Nou Camp in the Champions League.

United are looking to bolster their forward line with reinforcements. But, according to Zorc, the likelihood of Sancho moving to the Premier League in January is slim.

“We’re continuing to plan with him,” said Zorc. “He’s a fundamental player for us and I do not see any scenario where he leaves us.

“We have already had some situations with him to talk about, and there have been a lot of interviews in the last few weeks.

“We are in a good way; when he came off the bench in Barcelona and also in Berlin, he gave us a top performance.”

United have also targeted Leicester City playmaker James Maddison and West Ham midfielder Declan Rice in recent months, though it remains to be seen how much business Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side can complete in the New Year.
