Borna Barisic Rangers transfer exit fears raised as Gary McAllister offers cryptic 'you never know' response to last game query

Gary McAllister admits there is a possibility Borna Barisic could have played his last game for Rangers.

The Croatia star swung in the delivery which produced Filip Helander 's derby winner but cut an emotional figure at full-time as hugged Gers back-room staff and touched the Ibrox turf.

That sparked fears the full-back is about to say farewell to Glasgow ahead of Tuesday's transfer deadline.

Asked about the teary 28-year-old's future after the match, assistant boss McAllister said: "You never know.

"What I would say, that just might be a wee reminder to himself that that’s his level.

"That was Borna Barisic back at his very best. And it’s good to see."

The left-back's emotional reaction at full-time led pundit Kris Boyd to speculate he may be on his way out of Ibrox.

He said on Sky Sports: "There's two days left of the transfer window, if he's waving his goodbyes, if he is saying cheerio to the Rangers fans, listen, he's been a great servant.

"When we got knocked out of the Champions League, all the stories were that someone had to go.

"If it is Borna Barisic, I think he has served himself well in a Rangers story.

"What I will say to him is he won't play for another club like Rangers, but good luck to him if he does."
