Boris Johnson has tested positive for Coronavirus

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed this morning he has tested positive for Coronavirus.

In a statement alongside a video posted on his Twitter account he said: "Over the last 24 hours I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus. I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus."

He stressed that his symptoms were mild and that he would be self-isolating and working from home.

He also said he was committed to the national fightback against Coronavirus and commended the NHS for their efforts.

It comes just days after the Prince of Wales tested positive for the virus.
