Bonfire stock pile set alight in Dublin prevented from spreading to vegetation by firefighters

Firefighters prevented a Halloween bonfire stock pile set on fire from spreading to nearby vegetation in west Dublin.

Dublin Fire Brigade are also urging people to look out for bonfire stashes in their area after firefighters tackled a bonfire stash set on fire in Ongar earlier today.

Dramatic images of the blaze posted to Twitter show the smoky remains of the bonfire stash which was set alight, with firefighters dousing the flames with jets of water.

The blaze was quickly brought under control by firefighters at the scene.

Taking to Twitter, Dublin Fire Brigade tweeted: "Firefighters from Blanchardstown fire station dealing with a bonfire stockpile alight in Ongar.

"The fire was prevented from spreading to nearby vegetation

"You can call your local authority to remove bonfire "stashes" before they damage the environment."

People are reminded to dial 999 or 112 in an emergency.
