Bolton Wanderers injury update on Kachunga, Dempsey and Isgrove ahead of Morecambe

Bolton Wanderers will undertake a fitness test on midfielder Kyle Dempsey before deciding whether he will face Morecambe or not.

Wanderers are back in action four days after the the comprehensive 3-0 win on the road against Gillingham over the weekend when they take on the Shrimps at the University of Bolton Stadium.

They are seeking to make it successive wins in League One and narrow the gap to the top six which currently stands at seven points.

Wanderers entertain Morecambe tomorrow evening and Ian Evatt has given an availability update ahead of the encounter.

Gethin Jones will not be involved as he remains on compassionate leave after the death of his mother Karen.

Dempsey missed the clash against old club Gillingham over the weekend due to an illness and also a groin injury, and Evatt has revealed the midfielder will be checked before making a decision on whether he plays a part in tomorrow's encounter or not.

Elias Kachunga and Lloyd Isgrove are still progressing with their injury recoveries but neither will be ready for tomorrow's clash, with the former closer to a return than the latter and could be involved over the weekend against Plymouth Argyle.

Evatt said: "Kyle is back in. He was ill as well as a slight groin injury last week. The illness has now subsided but we don’t know about his groin yet.

"We’re going to check him this morning and try to make sure he’s 100 per cent before we take any risks. Kacha will train again and everyone else is fine apart from obviously Gethin, who is still away.

"Kacha has got a good chance to be involved on Saturday if I see the things that I saw on Thursday and Friday.

"Kacha is a senior player now, he’s nearly 30 so he knows his body better than anyone. We’ll have an honest and open discussion.

"We’ll see where he is at and where he feels he is at, and then make decisions from that.

"He’s (Isgrove) doing really well. He’s back running. He’s probably two to three weeks behind Kacha but I would think by the end of the month he’ll be back in with the group."
