Bolton Wanderers fans give verdict on Kyle Dempsey full debut and Amadou Bakayoko decision

Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt has handed a first start to final January transfer window signing Kyle Dempsey for this evening's clash versus Charlton Athletic.

James Trafford continues as goalkeeper, while there is a change in the Wanderers back three with Gethin Jones returning after being rested over the weekend.

Ricardo Almeida Santos is available and selected after having his red card overturned, with Will Aimson completing the back three and George Johnston missing out with illness.

Marlon Fossey and Declan John continue as the wing-backs.

In central midfield, MJ Williams and Aaron Morley continue, with Dempsey alongside them for his first start.

And the strike partnership this evening will be Dion Charles and Dapo Afolayan.

On the bench this evening for Bolton are Joel Dixon, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson, Amadou Bakayoko, Kieran Lee, Kieran Sadlier, Alex Baptiste and Liam Gordon.

And reacting to the news on Twitter, Wanderers fans' reaction appears to be a split between excitement at Dempsey starting and some expressing regret that Bakayoko is not starting after his goal off the bench in the draw against Morecambe over the weekend.

Jack Halliwell wrote: "Just look at that bench, so many options now must be causing a headache for selection, Gethin back and Dempsey starting."

Jay Kirk wrote: "Solid team this, excited to see a Dempsey start, Baka unlucky but similar decisions inevitable with the insane depth we have at the minute. Come on whites."

@bwfcarchie posted: "Everyone complaining about Baka but he’s only ever been good off the bench."

Chris Merrills wrote: "Shame about Johnston, thought he was really starting to get into a run of good form. Aside from that probably our strongest team and bench."

@Sharpy1991 posted: "Harsh on Baka but looking forward to seeing the Dempsey link up."

@Samsbwfc posted: "Personally think Baka deserved to start this one based on last game unlucky on him."

@BoothyP posted: "Not seen a bench that solid as long as Evatt has been here to be fair. Love the fact Evatt has so many options and problems picking a team from that too."
