Bolton high school set to expand

A high school is planning to create more pupil places by using a building last occupied by the Bolton Music Service .

Ladybridge High School is refurbishing existing classrooms in its old ROSLA building on the same site.

This gives the school an opportunity to increase capacity without having to create a new build extension, according to a report by the town hall.

It said: “The school are increasing (sic) their pupils numbers from 180 to 210 to meet ongoing demand for school places and require the accommodation for class bases.

“The purpose of the refurbishment and alterations to the proposed areas is to modernise and create a vibrant new environment to accommodate effective teaching and learning.”

The planning committee will vote on whether to approve the application at a meeting on Thursday at 2pm.

There are no objections to the proposal.
