The body of a man in his 20s has been found at a beauty spot in Stockport.
Officers made the discovery at Marple Aqueduct on Friday (January 8).
They were initially called to reports of concern for the welfare of a man at around midday.
A spokesman for GMP said there were believed to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
A report is being prepared for the coroner, GMP said.
In a statement, police said: "Just after 12pm on January 8, officers were called to a report of a concern for the welfare of a man in Stockport.
"Sadly, officers discovered the body of a man in his 20s in Marple Aqueduct.
"There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances and a report is being prepared for the Coroner."
