Body found on Kirkcaldy beach as cops launch probe

A beach in Fife has been sealed off today after a body was found.

The grim discovery was made at Kirkcaldy this morning at around 10.25am by members of the public.

Officers from Police Scotland have taped off a large section of the esplanade walkway as they investigate the circumstances of the death.

They remain on the scene .

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Around 10.25am on Sunday, July 14 police attended Esplanade, Kirkcaldy following the discovery of a body in the beach area.

"Inquiries are ongoing."
