Police have found a body on the island of Arran in the search for a German tourist.
Valerij Tomarenko, 58, was reported missing on Thursday, August 15 when he was last spotted getting off a ferry on the island.
His Hyundai i10 car was parked at Ardrossan Ferry Terminal on the day of his disappearance.
It was believed the tourist may have travelled to the island for hillwalking.
Now, Police Scotland confirmed they have found a body believed to be that of Valerij Tomarenko.
Officers on the case made the discovery on Goatfell at around 11.30am on Thursday, August 22.
Formal identification of the body is still to take place and his family have been informed.
A spokesperson for the force added: “A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal .”
