Body found in search for missing woman after forensics pictured at Manchester park

Police searching for a missing woman from north Manchester have found a body.

Paulina Biernacka disappeared in the early hours of Sunday (October 18) morning in Abbey Hey, in Gorton.

The 26-year-old from north Manchester was last seen at 1am on Jetson Street.

Forensics were pictured at a park in Gorton on Sunday night, as police said they were searching the area as part of a missing person enquiry.

Police were pictured at the gateway to Debdale Park on Sunday evening as part of the search.

A body, believed to be that of Ms Biernacka has since been found, police have confirmed.

Formal identification is yet to take place but the woman's next of kin have been informed.

Her death is not being treated at suspicious.

Officers searching for Ms Biernacka said they believed she had gone missing without any money or personal belongings.

Photos taken from Debdale Park showed a number of forensic officers, some wearing head torches, entering the grounds.

The pictures were taken close to the lake in a bit of wooded area, according to an eyewitness.

Spotlights were located throughout the area, which was taped off by police.
