Body found in search for missing 47-year-old dad

A body has been found in the search for a man who was reported missing over a week ago, police have confirmed.

Anthony Oldham was last seen when he left his house in the Machynlleth area of Powys on Sunday, September 12.

His family, along with Dyfed-Powys Police, made pleas of information to help locate him as the search continued over the past week.

On Monday morning, however, police have confirmed that the body of a man was found on Sunday afternoon.

Formal identification has not yet taken place, but Mr Oldham's family has been made aware.

A spokesman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Sadly we can confirm that a body of a man was found yesterday afternoon, Sunday, September 19, 2021, during the search for Antony from Machynlleth, who had been reported missing.

“Formal identification has not yet taken place, however Antony’s family have been informed of this development.

“Our thoughts remain with the family at this time.”
