Body found at Scots home as police probe 'unexplained' death

The death of a man at a home in Fife has sparked a major police investigation.

Officers were called to Whitehall Avenue in Cardenden, Lochgelly on Thursday evening.

The alarm was raised at around 6.45pm.

Police were called following what they describe as a the 'sudden death' of a 48-year-old man.

His death is being treated as unexplained at this stage.

Enquiries are ongoing.

A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Police confirmed the incident to the Daily Record on Friday afternoon.

A spokeswoman from the force said: "Officers were called to an address in Whitehall Avenue in Cardenden at around 6.45pm on Thursday, July15 2021 following the sudden death of a 48-year-old man.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained.

"Enquiries are ongoing.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
