Body found amid search for 52-year-old man missing in Ayrshire

A BODY has been found amid a search for a man missing in Ayrshire.

The 52-year-old Abilio Miguel Caixeiro Da Silva was reported missing from Hurlford, near Kilmarnock, on Wednesday June 24.

While formal identification has yet to take place, police said that Da Silva’s family had been informed of the discovery.

There are no suspicious circumstances around the death.

A police spokesperson said: “The body of a man has been found during searches for a missing man in Hurlford.

“He is yet to be formally identified, however, the family of 52-year-old Abilio Miguel Caixeiro Da Silva, who was reported missing on Wednesday, 24 June, 2026, has been informed.

“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
