Body found after granny flat fire on Central Coast

A body has been found after a house fire on the Central Coast.

Emergency crews were called to a granny flat behind a home on Terry Avenue, Woy Woy, about 11.40pm on Tuesday following reports of a fire.

NSW Fire and Rescue officers extinguished the blaze a short time later.

The dead bodies of a person and a dog were found inside the premises, police said.

Officers from Brisbane Water Police Police Distrcit attended and established a crime scene, which has been forensically examined.

The body has not yet been formally identified. A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

The circumstances surrounding the cause of the fire are under investigation.
