Police say the man and woman found dead in a Bendigo house yesterday were both aged 66.
Police officers found the bodies, in a house in Pearce Street in the the suburb of California Gully, on Thursday afternoon.
Officers said they were working to formally identify the pair.
"The deceased are yet to be formally identified and the exact cause of the deaths are yet to be determined," a statement from police said.
"Police are not looking for anyone else in connection to the incident at this stage."
Police say the investigation is ongoing and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
Pearce Street was cordoned off and detectives remained at the scene into Thursday evening.
