BMW driver 'mows down man' then follows him to house and smashes windows

A BMW driver reportedly mowed down a man and chased him through a car park.

Police today said that at around 8pm on April 27, they received a report that a man had been hit by a car on Roseheath Drive in Halewood.

The man managed to escape to a nearby car park, before the BMW driver is reported to have driven into the car park, got out of the vehicle and started making threats.

The victim, who suffered from minor cuts and bruising to his ankle, managed to escape for a second time and went to a nearby property on Marsden Road.

However, the driver is believed to have followed him to the property, where he smashed a window, caused damage to a car parked outside and made further threats.

He then left the area in the blue BMW, which is believed to have had cloned licence plates.

The driver of the car was described as having facial hair and was wearing dark clothing and a baseball cap at the time of the incident.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We are appealing for information following an attempted section 18 assault and criminal damage in Halewood on Monday, April 27.

"CCTV and house to house enquiries have been carried out and an investigation is underway.

"We are appealing for anyone who was in the area around Roseheath Drive/Marsden Road who may have seen anyone or anything suspicious to contact us as they may have information which is vital to the investigation.

"Anyone which information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or @Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 20000244316."
