Blizzard wants you to ponder Overwatch 2 characters’ feet

One of the new Greek-themed Overwatch 2 skins gives Ramattra a Poseidon makeover, complete with a beach-themed outfit – and toenails. In case you missed that last fact, Blizzard pointed it out with a screenshot of Ramattra’s foot digits on Twitter and asked fans to start discussing Overwatch 2 characters’ feet.

Yes, Ramattra, a robot, has toes and toenails.

If that seems a bit random, there’s actually – perhaps distressingly – a precedent for this kind of conversation and for unusual feet in the multiplayer game. As Kotaku first pointed out, Overwatch fans have a history of foot fixation. In 2019, one Twitter user created an alternate version of the original Overwatch’s character selection screen based on which heroes had toes.

Most heroes don’t show their piggies naturally, but have at least one skin – a beach skin or an outdoorsy one – where they don something more casual, including footwear. Sigma’s beach skin, for example, puts the big-brained genius in flip-flops and lets his toes dangle freely.

Perhaps the foot fans have settled down in the years between the foot selection screen, as the reaction to Blizzard’s post was mostly variations of “please let me scrub my eyes and wash the filth away.”

The Twitter account for the San Francisco Shocks, an Overwatch League team, posted “Cannot believe I grew eyes for nine months in the womb only to see this tweet.”

Still, as the Overwatch League Contenders account said, it could be worse. It could be socks and sandals.

You can claim the Poseidon skin and unleash Ramattra’s toes at tier 20 of the Overwatch 2 season 2 battle pass.
