Sunday 22 August 2010: Hummingbird Moth. I've been trying to get a decent shot of this amazing creature all week. About 25 mm long they perfectly mimic a humming bird, feeding with their long proboscis from the Spanish Flag flowers, zipping in and out of the long stems with a blur of wingsPhotograph: Max Ellis/BlipfotoMonday 23 August 2010: Marina cat sunrise. Last full day lounging at my fathers place in Puerto Banus. Up early again to capture the sunrise. The Security guard in the apartment was awake unlike earlier in the week. Part of the harbour wall faces east and the local strays mingle with the jogging millionaire yacht owners to soak up the early morning rays.Photograph: Max Ellis/BlipfotoTuesday 24 August 2010: Morning shower A last late breakfast in the local town of Istan. Here my Brother enjoying a refreshing splash in this watercourse, fed by the ice cold waters of the mountain spring. Just time for a quick Blip and then off to the airport hoping to catch the last few days of summer.Photograph: Max Ellis/Blipfoto
Wednesday 25 August 2010: Hungry Rook. Rooks are so fantastically Dickensian with their Spectacle eyes, funereal plumage and scabrous beaks. Somehow strangely out of place at a motorway service station but I guess there are less tasty snacks in the graveyard!Photograph: Max Ellis/BlipfotoThursday 26 August 2010: Another big night out at Shinky Shonky. Club impresario, DJ extraordinaire, pedlar of lewdly inappropriate cards and buttons, songwriter, crooner and fashionista Boogaloo Stu hosts the ultra camp happening 'Shinky Shonky' at the Ku Bar in London's China Town every Wednesday night. My wife Katherine occasionally graces the event with her presence and performs some of her hits. The evening then usually spirals into mayhem culminating in a Boogaloo Stu game show. Last night was no exception and we were treated to a fine display of 'Penny up the crack' I shall leave it to your imaginations. The winner is showered in ASDA chocolates, cheap 'champagne' and various inflatables. Here we see Mrs Ellis flushed with the success of the performance graciously receiving the adoration of her admirers.Photograph: Max Ellis/BlipfotoFriday 27 August 2010: Foot kisser We popped in to Gaydar Radio Towers and met up with our friend and legendary DJ Phil Marriott to play Katherine's new single, promote her Manchester Pride appearance tomorrow and generally disrupt the studio. Katherine and Phil have a very special arrangement that involves a little peck on the foot of the Diva before she leaves each time. Phil insisted on popping on this wig to liven up the image...They both assure me this is entirely normal.Photograph: Max Ellis/BlipfotoSaturday 28 August 2010: when wildlife goes wild! Oh yes, they look sweet at a distance or when they're shackled to Santa's sleigh but you get up close and personal with one of these mothers, (or fathers in this case) and its a whole different story. A nice parochial/suburban image before we head up to Manchester Pride this afternoon. Normal full on all singing and dancing boa and sequin diva action will be resumed tomorrow!Photograph: Max Ellis/Blipfoto
