Blind teen to announce Ravens’ fourth-round pick off Braille card

The Baltimore Ravens are honoring a teen battling cancer by having him announce their fourth-round pick (No. 123 overall) on the last day of the NFL Draft.

Mo Gaba will make the announcement in a unique way. He lost his sight at nine months. The team has worked it out so Gaba can read the name on a card in Braille.

Gaba received the news Wednesday when  he called a local radio show and Ravens coach John Harbaugh surprised him by dialing in on another line.

“We’re going to send a car to pick up you and your mom to go to the event. You will be the first person in the history of the NFL to deliver a draft card that’s in Braille. You’re going to make history,” Harbaugh said.

The offer caught Gaba by surprise and made the devoted Ravens fan emotional.

“I still need to process it all. I’m getting a little teary eyed just thinking about it,” Gaba said. … “I would like to do that. Yeah!”

Gaba has beaten cancer three times and is battling it again.

He has already beaten cancer three times and is in the early stages of his fourth battle. A GoFundMe page to help his family with medical bills is nearing its goal of $50,000.
