Blake Lively has accused Justin Baldoni of “creating a media circus” by leaking information from her private deposition last week amid their ongoing legal battle.
The Gossip Girl actress was questioned under oath by lawyers representing her It Ends With Us co-star-turned-adversary — and according to a letter from her legal team, the confidential details were leaked almost instantly.
“Consistent with their goal of creating a media circus around Ms. Lively’s deposition, it also appears that the Wayfarer Defendants immediately leaked details from the deposition to the tabloid media,” Lively said of Baldoni’s team.
Lively’s lawyers claimed there were further leaks the next day, including “in detail Blake Lively’s attire for the deposition” and who was with her at the meeting.
This was to “misleadingly” spin the story that Lively “needed a large contingent of people with her to testify” while suggesting Justin Baldoni was only accompanied by one lawyer, she alleged.
The Daily Mail published a story the following day, reporting that Lively arrived at the building alongside her older half-sister Robyn and her husband Ryan Reynolds. However, according to the outlet, neither Ryan nor Robyn were present in the room during the full-day deposition, which was attended by Lively’s team of eight lawyers.
Meanwhile, the Manhattan federal court papers claimed Justin Baldoni and the other defendants had an army of 13 lawyers accompanying them.
Lively’s legal team alleges that the day after the deposition, Baldoni’s camp filed a 292-page rough draft of the transcript under seal for just one week. Her attorneys will now need to file a motion to keep it sealed permanently.
Baldoni’s lawyers “hope to make Ms. Lively defend the continued sealing of the transcript so they can advance a false narrative that Blake Lively is afraid of her deposition testimony becoming public, which is entirely untrue and deeply harmful”.
Lively’s team has since filed more papers asking the judge to sanction Baldoni’s controversial lawyer Bryan Freedman for his alleged “relentless media campaign to harm Ms. Lively’s character, credibility and reputation”.
Blake Lively will go to trial against Baldoni is set to start on March 9, 2026.
