Blake Lively meets Prue Leith in the Cotswolds during 'best week' break

Blake Lively has revealed she had the “best week” in the Cotswolds - including a trip to see her unlikely friend, Prue Leith.

The actress, 38, and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, 49, were in the UK earlier this month to watch Reynold’s football team Wrexham lose to Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

But after taking a break in London, the couple and their children James, 11, Inez, nine, Betty, six, and Olin, three went for a countryside retreat at celebrity hotspot Soho Farmhouse.

Their holiday included a visit to see Leith, 86, at her farm in the area and Lively posted a pic of the pair hugging.

Lively and Leith became friends in 2023 after the pair made a visit to the Great British Bake Off set - as Reynolds was working on Deadpool, which was filming in the same location.

The Gossip Girl actress also tried her hand at falcon holding, visiting The Owl Sanctuary.

Though the star was still holding her Chanel purse while handling the birds of prey, as she joked it was “falcon holding but make it fashion”.

“No I didn't realise I was holding my purse in that gloved hand until my sister was laughing her a** off at my commitment to Chanel,” she added.

Lively also shared snaps of her husband during the Wrexham game, as she gushed: “After 14.5 years together I still take sneaky fan photos of him. I have such a crush.”

She captioned the snaps: “So grateful for the best week with my loved ones.

“Thank you @wrexham_afc and all the players and everyone who works at that stadium for the performance of a lifetime. The greatest 10,000 people to share an emotional roller coaster with is in Wrexham.

“Shout out to everyone (like my sweet sister in slide 10) who thinks someone is taking a photo of their cute outfit, when it's really a video.”

The Welsh Championship team, which is owned by Deadpool star Reynolds and It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’s Rob Mac, were beaten 4-2 by Premier League side Chelsea after extra time in the fifth round tie, with the trio cheering their team’s goals.

Reynolds could be seen kissing and hugging his wife during the game, as she held one of their children, who was wearing a Wrexham shirt.

At the full time whistle, Mac, who last year changed his surname from McElhenney, posted: “Proud of the team, today and every day.”
