G2 Esports are back to their wacky self at Worlds 2025. After drafting Caps’ first-ever Anivia, they secured a crucial win against LPL first seed Bilibili Gaming in the Swiss Stage.
“We had Poppy locked in already, and then we said, let’s do the TikTok combo, Poppy and Anivia,” Brokenblade said in the post-match interview. The TikTok combo refers to when Anivia puts her wall up to isolate an enemy and Poppy uses her Heroic Charge ability to stun them against the wall.

While TikTok players often come up with weird synergies with League champions, actually using them with high stakes on the line is a different story. G2 Esports are known for their off-meta picks on the domestic and international stage, and the team has finally tapped into their natural play style and are performing with confidence at Worlds 2025.
Hans Sama, G2’s star AD Carry, also praised Caps in the post-match interview with the caster desk. He said the Anivia pick helped them get a free Atakhan, which massively swung the game in their favour. Even though BLG tried to use Ryze’s Realm Warp to follow up on the Atakhan, G2 secured the objective and ran for the hills with their lead.
Movistar KOI and G2 Esports are now the only teams from the region still in contention at Worlds 2025 after Fnatic dropped out of the Swiss Stage. G2 Esports face FlyQuest next in a battle to secure their place in the playoffs.
As for BLG, they now have to face Vivo Keyd Stars in their quest for the Knockout Stage. The action resumes on Wednesday, Oct. 22.
