The Hunt or Be Hunted Event is the final event arriving before Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 2 Reloaded, and this one exclusive to Multiplayer.
This is another leaderboard-style competition in Black Ops 7, where you’ll be grouped with other players and compete to rack up the most eliminations. The higher you place on the leaderboard, the better the rewards you’ll unlock, including an animated weapon camo.
That said, even if your leaderboard ends up stacked with sweaty players, you’re not completely out of luck. The event also includes challenge-based rewards, giving everyone a chance to walk away with some items. If you’re aiming to flex your skills and grab some exclusive cosmetics before the midseason update drops, here’s everything you need to know about the event.

Black Ops 7 Hunt or Be Hunted Event start and end date

The event begins on Friday, March 6, at 12pmCST / 10am PST / 1pm EST / 6pm GMT, and runs until Monday, March 9, at the same time. This gives you three full days to grind eliminations, climb the leaderboard, and unlock rewards.
According to Treyarch, the event’s start date was pushed back by one day “to create a more level playing field,” since more players are typically available to play starting Friday. The developers also mentioned they’re planning to introduce a wider variety of events going forward, including more challenge-based and camo-focused events.
How the BO7 Hunt or Be Hunted Event works
Once the event starts, you’ll be placed into a 30-player leaderboard pool after playing a Multiplayer match. Your goal here is simple: earn as many eliminations as possible and outscore the other players in your group.
Your total eliminations during the event determine your final leaderboard placement, which then decides what leaderboard rewards you unlock.
However, finishing at the top isn’t the only way to earn rewards. The event also includes elimination milestone challenges, allowing players to unlock items, including an SMG blueprint, simply by hitting certain kill totals.

These rewards are based on your final placement on the leaderboard when the event ends. They’re cumulative, meaning if you finish in a higher rank bracket, you’ll also receive all rewards from the lower tiers.

Challenge Rewards
In addition to leaderboard prizes, you can unlock the following rewards by reaching specific elimination milestones during the event:

If you’re aiming to climb the leaderboard and secure at least the animated weapon camo, rocking the current meta weapons can give you a huge advantage. That said, I highly recommend using the Sturmwolf 45, Dravec 45, and M15 Mod 0, all of which can help you rack up eliminations quickly.

For your scorestreak loadout, I suggest running UAV, Watchdog Helo, and VTOL Warship to maximize kills. Pair that with the Squad Link field upgrade, which can help you earn scorestreaks faster.
When it comes to game modes, Hardcore playlists are great for farming eliminations thanks to the lower player health. If you prefer standard playlists, it’s ideal to hop into objective-based modes like Hardpoint and Domination since they usually last longer and concentrate players into smaller areas, resulting in more frequent engagements and opportunities to score kills.
