A Black Friday shopper who snapped up an Apple Watch for £299 claims he was was sent a toilet plunger by online giant Amazon instead.
Sales director John Browne was delighted when he managed to pick up an Apple Watch Series 4 with £100 off its regular retail price.
But John, 31, was left raging when he opened up the delivery to find he had been sent a £4.39 black and white toilet plunger instead, Wales Online reports.
While John has been given a refund the watch has now sold out in the colour and design he'd waited for weeks to order.
John, from London, said: “It was a pre-Christmas treat for myself and I have wanted one for a long time.
“I waited for Black Friday specifically and it was a calculated move on my part. It got delivered to me work and I went down to collect it at reception.
"I opened it in front of the reception staff and they started howling with laughter. They were all in absolute hysterics.
“I was very annoyed and was dreading the impending faff to get it sorted with Amazon. It’s such a massive cock-up and I could not believe it.”
John ordered an Apple Watch Series 4 with a rubber strap in space grey on October 22, the first day of the Black Friday sales.
It was delivered to his place of work in central London on October 25.
He says he spent hours of his time dealing with customer services and claims he was only refunded £289 instead of the full £299.
He said he complained again and was given a £10 Amazon voucher.
Amazon spokesman said: "We are taking this matter seriously and are investigating."
