The new Buckfast ad campaign has taken Irish Twitter by storm thanks to its bizarreness.
The hilarious ad, which can be seen around Dublin, shows the most outlandish scene- two professionals having a bottle of buckfast while at dinner with their boss.
The campaign comes as we get closer to World Buckfast Day which will fall on Sunday.
Social media users haven’t held back as many took to Twitter to express their amusement.
One person said: “So Buckfast has an ad campaign which I can only imagine is all about the worst places to drink Bucky.”
Another person said: “Lads who the hell drinks Buckfast at a work dinner!?”
A third person said: “Imagine going for dinner with your new boss and ordering a BUCKFAST, you’d get fired on the spot like.
“I genuinely can’t tell if this is a pisstake or not somebody please tell me.”
Michael Foley, of Richmond Marketing, said: “At Buckfast, we know what we are – and what we aren’t.
“We’re an acquired taste and proud of it. We know Buckfast isn’t for every occasion, but we’re the perfect choice for a night (or day) of truly good craic. We’re looking forward to seeing fans’ reaction to our new campaign.”
Buckfast, which dates back to 1897, is still made using the same recipe devised by the monks at Buckfast Abbey in Devon, England.
