Nobody Wants This has taken hold in our houses and we can’t get enough. But, what is going to happen with Season 3? And how am I supposed to just exist without closure now? Well, judging by my social media timeline, the desire for more of the Netflix show is there, and it is powerful. Let’s hope the algorithmic gods smile upon us and give us more Adam Brody and Kristen Bell in short order! It’s not too much to ask after that ending and how much story we have left.
For the uninitiated, Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody) are an odd couple to say the least. Pairing her opinionated podcaster with a rabbi allows both characters to cover some ground in understanding each other. This season, Noah welcomed Joanne into more of his personal life, via religious traditions. Of course, there was some turbulence in their relationship as faith became a question for both Joanne and Noah.
The lasting cliffhanger for Season 2’s finale revolved around Noah choosing to work it out with Joanne. A lot of Millennial viewers like Brody’s line of “I don’t care if you’re Jewish or not. I choose you.” But, there is background drama with supporting characters too. Justine Lupe’s Morgan ended up leaving her fiance. And Noah’s brother Sasha (Timothy Simons) made the decision to separate from his wife Esther (Jackie Tohn). So, there’s tons of meat on the bone for a Season 3, whenever Netflix gets around to greenlighting it.
Will Nobody Wants This Season 3 happen?

We don’t have all the information. But, things are looking good. It seems like Nobody Wants This Season 2 has managed to avoid that slump that affects a lot of shows in the streaming era. Now, nothing is a given, because we don’t have the concrete streaming numbers right in front of us. Kristen Bell ended up giving us the most concrete bit of news yet about the prospects for more Nobody Wants This. She told Parade Magazine that the writers room is working away as we speak on Season 3. Will Netflix give them a call to make it all official? Time will tell.
“The writer’s room is working right now,” she revealed. “You never know if you’re gonna be able to shoot because that’s way above our pay grade, and they decide what shows are gonna be shot. But the writer’s room is writing it right now. That we know.”
So, that has to be pretty good? Right? In the age of algorithmic decisions about shows, we’ve all been hurt. And, we will likely be hurt again. It probably helps that Nobody Wants This is headed into Season 3 instead of 4 or 5. That’s when most streamers, especially the one in question, get a bit antsy about letting a show run this long. After all, the line must go up in perpetuity for a lot of the people sitting at the head of these tables. But, Nobody Wants This stands a better chance than most shows, and that’s all we can ask for right now
