Bin a can to win a can! Trendy Dublin pub offering inventive scheme to help stop pollution

It's no secret that around this time every year, as the weather starts to take a turn for the better, flocks of people head to the city centre canal for a few bevs.

However, unfortunately every year the picturesque canal gets destroyed by tonnes of discarded rubbish from those who spent the day there.

Well that could be set to change, as local pub The Bernard Shaw, located a stone's throw from the canal, has thought of an inventive scheme to urge people to tackle the littering - and we think you might love it too.

All you have to do is grab a #BinittoWinit bag from the front entrance of The Bernard Shaw, head to the canal and have your cans.

Then, when you've finished for the day, bring the bag full of the cans & plastic bottles you’ve cleaned up from the canal back to drop off points at the pub, and you can avail of a free beer token!

It is all part of a campaign by Bodytonic to raise awareness around pollution in the capital.

It is essentially a win-win situation for everyone, as the environment is protected, whilst it goes without saying you are winning getting a free beer out of it.
