The 'Big Yin' has bigged up Irvine's greasy pole in his latest TV show the 'Great American Trail'.
Scotland's most-loved comedian is travelling across America in the STV programme and on a stop in Massachusetts he said Irvine's greasy pole is 'much more difficult' than it's American counterpart.
Billy was filmed saying: "They also have a famous greasy pole walk at St Peter's festival every summer, it's like a telegraph pole stuck out from a platform.
"They grease it up and walk on it, the champion gets to the end and lifts a flag.
"It's funny how international these things are.
"There's a greasy pole in Scotland, at Irvine. It's a vertical one in Scotland, much more difficult!"
