Billionaire gives huge donation to ICE shooter but conveniently misses opportunity to support victim’s family despite apparently wanting to

A GoFundMe has been set up for Jonathan Ross, the man who was filmed shooting an unarmed woman in Minnesota last week. While the crowdfunding campaign has a lofty goal of $550,000 it seems like that target will be reached with almost 400,000 reached in just two days. One of the biggest donations came from Bill Ackman.

Ackman, who made his money as a hedge fund manager, donated $10,000, the most money given out of all the donations so far. The donation page on GoFundMe shows the large sum, which is listed as the top donation, from one “William Ackman,” quickly prompting speculation that the money had been sent from the New York billionaire.

Ackman himself would later go on to confirm that the donation did indeed come from him and he tried to offer an explanation for why he felt the need to do so. “I am [a] big believer in our legal principal [sic] that one is innocent until proven guilty. To that end, I supported the @gofundme for Jonathan Ross,” Ackman wrote on X.

What did Bill Ackman say about Renee Nicole Good?

It seems quite apparent this man is living in his own bubble. He then went on to claim that he had intended to donate to the GoFundMe set up for the family of Renee Good but “her gofundme was closed by the time I attempted to provide support.” Of course, if it really meant so much to him, why not reach out to the family and offer support?

Many didn’t buy Ackman’s lame excuse and decided to call him out on X. “you’re such a f—ing loser dude i pray i get to tell you to your face one day,” wrote one. “of course you did.” added another, “billionaires are f—ing pieces of shit.” It seems the people have spoken and they’re really not holding back this time.

One person accused him of lying about the donations for Good being close, “That’s weird because I managed to donate to her with no problem. You must have tried, after you first donated to her murderer and it went public.”

A quick check shows that the GoFundMe for Renee Nicole Good is currently paused with donations far surpassing the goal of $50,000. The total currently sits at over $1,500,000 with the top donation being $50,000. Those who sent money offered their condolences in the comments on the page.

Meanwhile, on the GoFundMe page for Jonathan Ross comments range from claiming he did nothing wrong to donations from people who don’t agree with what he did but want to see a fair trial.

Anyways, it seems like Bill Ackman’s decision to donate such a hefty amount to Ross has shown many people exactly where the billionaire stands on the situation and to the surprise of nobody, he’s on the wrong side.
