A motorcyclist is in hospital after a horror crash with a car on the M90.

The busy road was blocked for several hours after the motorcycle was involved in a smash with a car on southbound carriageway at junction one near the South Queensferry turnoff on Saturday afternoon.

Emergency services were quick to respond to the smash that one onlooker described as “horrific”.

The southbound carriageway is reported to be completely closed after traffic came to as standstill at around 1.35pm.

A motorist commented on the Fife Jammers Facebook page saying: "Just drove past. Looked horrific. Hope everyone is okay."

While another claimed to have stopped to help the biker on the same forum.

He wrote: “I stopped to help with the accident. Paramedics are with the man now.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.25pm on Saturday 3 October 2020, police were called to a report of a road crash involving a car and a motorbike on the M90 at Junction 1 south bound.

“Emergency services attended and the male motorcyclist was taken to hospital for treatment. “The road was closed following the incident and has since been reopened.”
